CFO Dong Seok Cha commented on the 2024 results, stating, “Despite challenges in both domestic and global business environments, we strengthened our foundation by achieving meaningful progress in our three new growth engines—eco-friendly solutions, battery materials, and new drugs—while simultaneously advancing our business portfolio through the rationalization of non-core operations.”
Excluding LG Energy Solution, LG Chem’s revenue for last year stood at approximately KRW 27.1 trillion. Considering external business conditions, the company has set its revenue target for this year at KRW 26.5 trillion.
Looking ahead, CFO Dong Seok Cha stated, “Uncertainty in the global business environment is expected to intensify due to the deepening protectionist policies of key countries and increased volatility in environmental regulations. However, we will accelerate the restructuring of our business portfolio to focus on high-growth, high-profit sectors, enhance competitiveness by strengthening the foundation of our three new growth engines, and drive the commercialization of R&D initiatives through open innovation to minimize short-term performance fluctuations while maintaining solid mid-to-long-term growth.
Meanwhile, in Q4 of last year, LG Chem recorded a consolidated revenue of KRW 12.3366 trillion and an operating loss of KRW 252 billion. Revenue decreased by 6.1% YoY, and operating profit turned negative.
