[PP] Protecting respiratory health with masks

People started wearing masks as the "bad" fine dust level continued for days.

Since it's difficult to resolve the issue fundamentally, so it 's best to prevent sickness and take care of our health.

If you need to go out despite the severe fine dust conditions, experts recommend wearing a mask to protect the respiratory tract.

Instead of plain masks, medical masks are recommended to block out fine dust particles.

Medical masks are functional masks that have been approved as quasi-drugs by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and are marked "KF (Korea Filter)."

They have a structure of multiple layers of filters inside.

In particular, there is a static filter in the layers that adsorbs the harmful microscopic substances that can pass through the air and blocks them out.

The filter used for masks is made of non-woven fabrics, composed of polypropylene (PP).

PP is a material used to make functional non-woven fabrics, and are also used to make filters for air purifiers.

◆ PP (Polypropylene)

PP is a synthetic resin made by polymerizing propylene. It's one of the most widely used general-purpose plastic that can transform into various products

depending on the properties and processing method. With excellent tensile and impact strengths, it is used in a wide range of applications,

including films, textiles, and automotive parts. LG Chem manufactures and supplies products for specialized applications such as injection and fiber.
