    Climate change is the most urgent and serious crisis faced by humanity. In response, LG Chem has declared to achieve carbon-neutral growth by 2050, the first in the Korean chemical industry. To this end, we are implementing various strategies to reduce carbon emissions, such as the low-carbon and green innovation of our business portfolio and conversion to renewable energy.

    While plastic has brought significant convenience to human life, it does not decompose, and the waste has a negative impact on the environment. LG Chem is actively promoting mechanical and chemical recycling of plastic waste to establish a virtuous system of resource circulation. Furthermore, we are creating new business opportunities by developing recycled plastics and degradable bioplastics.

2023 LG Chem Sustainability Report

LG Chem is publishing the 18th Sustainability Report in 2024 to communicate sustainability activities and performances transparently with various stakeholders. This report covers LG Chem’s sustainability strategy and major achievements in the areas of environmental, social, and governance, as well as its future plans. LG Chem will continue to actively communicate with stakeholders and become a world-class science-oriented corporation creating new values for our customers.

Global Initiatives
